What’s In My Web Design Toolbox

There are many tools that you can use to design a website, here is a list of mine.

  1.  Wordpress Theme
  2. Siteground
  3. Elementor
  4. MailChimp
  5. Woocommerce
  6. Stripe/Paypal/Square
  7. Canva
  8. Photoshop
  9. Smush

These are the pillars on which my business is held upon.

WordPress Theme

I have been using WordPress for the last 10 years and have ALWAYS been able to find a theme that fits my needs. Whether I’m designing a blog or a website for a business or an author, I prefer to use WordPress. I know that the end goals will always be sleek and , professional.

Siteground

I have been using Siteground to host my site for a little over a year and I love it! I love their customer service and their prices aren’t too bad neither. I love the options that they have and they definately have other services that I plan on using in the near future.

Elementor

This is a plug-in offered on WordPress that helps to create beautiful pages and excellent landing pages. I love it so much that I use it to create almost every other page on my sites.

MailChimp

Collecting emails using Mail Chimp is getting easier the more that I learn about it. I actively use MailChimp on a site that I manage it works beautifully. It make’s sure that the emails that I send out looks sleek and professional just like my website.

WooCommerce

My favorite WordPress plug in to use to sell products. It just makes things so much easier. I’ve tried using different things on other platforms and I’m just so grateful for it. It makes my site look well organized.

Stripe/Paypal/Square

I am still testing out how I want to take payments but so far I like the these 3. Stripe allows me to take monthly payment easily, while Paypal is commonly used and most people are comfortable with it. However Square allows me to take credit card payment right then and there in person. Should I have a meeting with a potential client and I end up closing the deal and making them a winning client, they can make their deposit on site, right then and there. Each payment platform is important to the overall look and professionalism of Winn Publications.

Canva

Want to know how I create my graphics for the social media platforms that I manage? I use Canva! It’s just super easy and super quick. I can create over 90 posts in one with Canva. Later I’ll show you how. I also use Canva to create images for my blog and my website as a whole.

Photoshop

If I am looking to create a more complex image I opt out for Photoshop. However, I have not yet found a way to get quick in making graphics in Photoshop.

Smush

It is a WordPress plug-in that resizes my images so that my website runs faster and smoother.

I know that a couple of these “tools” may seem out of place, but trust me they are hidden gems that are needed to function well all around.
